MWII Season Two Roadmap Revealed, Six New Modes Coming

Hours ago, the roadmap for Season Two of Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0 was revealed, and it contains more content than ever before. With a combination of forces, the likes of Infinity Ward, Treyarch, and Activision itself have produced one of the most loaded updates in the history of Call of Duty. On February 15th, players will receive the Season Two update for free, but the amount of content it brings to the table should easily carry a price tag.

Well, maybe not – that’s slightly controversial. But there’s no denying the fact that this update is monumental. It brings an all-new environment to Warzone 2.0 and DMZ, six new game modes to the multiplayer platform, four maps, five new weapons, and plenty of events to keep players occupied.

Read on to learn everything you need to know about Season Two of Modern Warfare II.

Firstly, there are four ‘new’ maps coming to Modern Warfare II when the update drops on the 15th of February. We say ‘new’ because, technically, they’ve all been seen before in some capacity in the Call of Duty ecosystem:

Dome (From 2011’s Modern Warfare 3)
Valderas Museum (From MWII’s beta)
Al-Malik International (From Warzone 2.0)
Zaya Observatory (From Warzone 2.0)

There are also no fewer than six game modes being introduced in Season Two, some of which are fan favourites that haven’t been seen in years. Here’s what’s coming:

Infected
Gun Game
Grind
Drop Zone
All or Nothing
One in the Chamber

Outside of public multiplayer, Ranked Play is finally making an appearance in Modern Warfare II. Developed by Treyarch, Ranked Play is the long-awaited, more challenging multiplayer platform, built to mimic the Call of Duty League and to give players a more hardcore, robust experience. That too will drop on February 15th when the update rolls out.

And of course, along with all that, there are five new weapons, including the ISO Hemlock AR, the Crossbow, and a brand-new shotgun. There are also new bundles, a new operator – Ronin – and new skins coming for existing operators.

For Warzone 2.0, a brand new Resurgence experience is being delivered with Season Two. This is something that fans have been calling out for for quite some time, and on February 15th, Ashika Island will answer those calls. As a small-form map, Ashika Island will offer players the respawn-driven modes that were so popular on the likes of Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep.

Not only that, but the platform will also take advantage of the weapon, operator, challenges, and bundle updates that have been created for Modern Warfare II. Furthermore, there’s an all-new exclusion zone coming for DMZ, based on Ashika Island itself, as well as a new boss, new faction, and a new, exclusive weapons case for players to hunt down.

With fresh POIs, a new drone, events, a brand-new contract, and an updated Gulag (that finally returns to a 1v1 format), there’s plenty for Warzone 2.0 fans to see and do.

The Season Two update drops on February 15th for all players and platforms.
