Now that Patch 13.3 hit the live servers, the balance team is already looking toward the next League Patch 13.4 with many champion buffs and nerfs.

League Patch 13.4 Preview

Patch 13.4 is the first update that should get Riot back onto the planned schedule, following the recent social engineering attack.

The balance team tried to push engage supports back into the meta with the latest patch, and now is considering bringing various champions changes. According to League developer Matt “Phroxon” Leung-Harrison, Riot wanted to get “lots of changes for champions” into this patch, focusing on balancing ranged vs melee supports in bot lane, balancing optimal jungle pathing, addressing early snowballing & flattening some healing.

Aside from the champion changes, there will be major system changes to the support items and experience gained from kills. Here’s everything you need to know about League Patch 13.4, which should be released on Feb. 23, according to Riot’s patch schedule.

How will Patch 13.4 impact the meta?

Given that the numbers are not out yet, it’s still too early to make any potential judgment. Having said that, it’s quite sure that ranged supports are going to be tagged the most due to the recharge time nerf. On top of that, champions will get less experience from early kills, making snowballs slightly less effective than now. Aside from these two considerations, however, there isn’t much to consider.
