How AI will disrupt the metaverse
How AI will disrupt the metaverse

We have seen an online frenzy over the past few months for Artificial Intelligence. Whilst many look at it as robots taking over the world (talk about jumping to conclusions), others have started to use it within the world of business and content creation.

Rightly so considering the quality of work Chatbots like ChatGPT are able to produce in a matter of seconds. Thanks to Machine Learning, it is now possible to create pieces of work that would otherwise take a human a lot longer in time. Not to mention proofreading and countless more drafting depending on skillbase.

Don’t worry just yet, your content writing job isn’t in jeopardy. AI Chatbots have a long way to go just yet. Most of the time whilst the work is great quality it’s noticeably not human made.

The Metaverse as always is a topic of discussion in Web3. It turned out Zuckerberg and his team at Meta had pumped a crazy $12 billion plus into Metaverse research last year. Not cheap but as many know, you have to spend money to make money.

With the buzz around these two industries taking the tech world by storm, let’s look into how they are actually related to one another. The relationship is more obvious than you may initially think!

Chatbots will be in the Metaverse

This is the most commonly discussed aspect of Artificial Intelligence is Chatbots. In the Metaverse they’ll have more use than just asking them silly questions and waiting for a silly answer, although using them for that is fun.

As Chatbots develop and the machines have been fed more and more information, results from Chatbots will be more coherent and even more humanlike!

Used for tasks such as: marketing, coding, technology & general problem solving the doors are opened to get work complete in a timely manner.

It will be interesting to see how the world of business within the Metaverse blossoms with AI as the premise the Metaverse is built on is full digital decentralized autonomy. Controlling how organizations work goes against this so having policies in place will be interesting.

For context in the real world, businesses have to abide by GDPR rules in some aspects of marketing. We wonder how the Metaverse will adapt this, or if it will at all?

Digital Avatars in the Metaverse

So far we have seen digital avatars present in marketing efforts from Meta. They can technically be dated back to the first MMORPG games where players interact with other player’s in-game characters within a virtual land.

Fast forward to 2023 and digital avatars are running rampant across all corners of entertainment as social media companies have picked up on this trend. The biggest example currently on a social standpoint is SnapChat.

Users can edit their avatars to their wants and needs. Top NFT token fashion is already available as brands like Nike, Gucci, Prada and Adidas have released collections that avatars will be able to wear in their chosen metaverse experience.

As the technology developing digital avatars expands, we will see AI working together to bring a more realistic experience and appearance. As digital avatars are used, the smart learning from AI allows the character to exhibit realistic movements and interactions.

Inclusivity for all taking part

It is becoming clear that the Metaverse is aiming to unify people around the world. No more will real time and world experiences be dependent on your location or ability to be present.

Inclusive interfaces will be made for the Metaverse by Artificial Intelligence technology. Say for example you have a disability, the Metaverse and experiences within it only require an Apple VR headset and a desktop device.

This shows one of the many good intentions behind this emerging technology. Whilst the internet was groundbreaking in itself, the metaverse is going to disrupt what we know about technology.

Through speech recognition and Natural Language Processing a realistic and natural experience is cultivated through AI and the Metaverse.

The environments found within the Metaverse in the distant future will all become AI generated. Art, buildings, the outdoors and even speech to a degree will all have been expanded on more by Machine Learning as years of information will have been inputted.

Digital transactions on the blockchain list and the verification of Smart Contracts will also become dependent on AI. With how vast the Metaverse can become, it comes as no surprise that humans will rely on machines to automate and maintain it for longevity and growth.

What’s to come from all this?

It may get to the point where AI actually governs the whole of the Metaverse but who knows really as it is still early days.

What’s your thoughts on Artificial Intelligence? Do you think it’s the step in the right direction, or are you skeptical of the ethics behind it and the implications it could cause in the near future?
