Atlus has announced that the first three Etrian Odyssey games are coming to Nintendo Switch and Steam in a remastered collection on June 1.
Revealed as a surprise announcement during the February 8 Nintendo Direct, the Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection will include HD versions of the original trilogy alongside several other improvements, and can be purchased as one package or separately.
Changes include a remastered soundtrack to go alongside the remastered graphics, various quality of life improvements including difficulty selection and save slots, easy access to the monster compendium, skill tree, and quest log, plus 24 new character portraits.
The Nintendo Switch version will also have touch screen functionality that lets players plot their progress through the labyrinth by marking certain paths, drawing walls, and adding icons to indicate special events and items.
The Steam version will offer something similar, using full mouse support to assist the player in menus, on the map, and while exploring dungeons.
Preordering the Origins Collection will also reward players with bonus content in the form of three DLC packs that include popular characters from other Atlus games. DLC Set 1 includes Joker from Persona 5 and Ringo from Soul Hackers 2, DLC Set 2 includes Demi-Fiend from Shin Megami Tensei 3 and Teddie from Persona 4, and DLC Set 3 includes Aigis from Persona 3 and Nahobino from Shin Megami Tensei 5.
The DLC packs will otherwise be available for $2.99 once the remastered Etrian Odyssey games are released in June.
