Apex Legends Season 16 Revelry Gets Team Deathmatch, Reworked Class System, and More

Apex Legends Season 16 Revelry is dropping February 14th at 10 AM PT and this time, Apex is reworking quite a bit of its game in this massive update. A lot of this is what players have been asking for, for a long time so returning players and new players have a lot to look forward to. Here’s a sneak peek into what the next season will bring, with more details to come later this week.

New Gamemodes

Team Deathmatch will be finally arriving in Apex as a limited time mode. Players will play a 6v6 lobby, though you won’t be able to squad up with more than your normal three teammates to queue. The best of three rounds in Apex Team Deathmatch will win.

With Team Deathmatch being the new Limited-Time Mode (LTM), there will be a permanent rotating LTM playlist called Mixtape arriving a little after the season launch on March 7. This will contain a playlist of rotating favorite limited time modes like Team Deathmatch. Control, and Gun Run.

Class System Rework

There’s a huge change coming to Apex in Revelry with the new remaster of their class system. Currently the Legends are all classified loosely into categories but this new rework will actually make the Legends carry out specific Class roles and give them additional exclusive perks. The Classes are: Assault, Skirmisher, Recon, Controller, and Support. We’ll have an in-depth look into this rework later this week so keep your eyes posted!

New Weapon: Nemesis

There’s also a new weapon, Nemesis, coming which is a new addition to the energy class. It’s a burst assault rifle that fires four rounds per burst, with the ability to just hold down the trigger to continue firing, unlike the hemlock.

The Nemesis speeds up the time it takes to fire the rounds of bursts the longer the trigger is held down and stays charged for a certain amount of time after. So it’s like the devotion once it’s been fully ramped up without a turbocharger but instead of having to ramp back up, the Nemesis will stay charged for a bit and lose charge if it hasn’t been fired in a minute.

Beginner Friendly Match System

Since it’s been four years since Apex launched, new players might feel overwhelmed with learning the game and keeping up with players who have been on for a while. So in this next season update, Apex will have a new orientation match system which lets new players learn the basics of the game like mechanics, movement, and weapons.

This is its own separate queue that new players can bring their friends into or play solo. This is also the only mode that will include bots in its battle royale matches to encourage new players to get a feel for the game before jumping into a lobby of full players.

Timed Login Bonuses

Of course, with this being Apex Legends’ 4th anniversary, there will be new login bonuses given to each player during the first two weeks of Revelry Feb 14th to the 21st. During this time you can automatically unlock Crypto with a thematic pack guaranteed to include a Crypto item to go along with your new Legend. If you log in from Tuesday Feb 21st to the 28th, you’ll unlock Ash and one of her themed packs as well.

We’ll have more in-depth information for you later this week so be sure to check back here for more up to date news on Apex Legends Season 16 Revelry.
