Keria Thresh Support Guide  – Everything you need to know

Thresh is one of the most complete champions in League of Legends. Engage, disengage, crowd controls, and shields are included in his kit, making him an extremely enjoyable character to play in the game. That said, mastering Thresh is not an easy feat and it takes time to draw out its maximum potential.

That said, we’ve compiled the best builds and runes in our guide to help you out, taking information from one of the best Thresh players in the world: Keria.

Build

Thresh’s build path can differ from game to game, depending on the enemy team composition. That said, Keria usually prefers to go for Shurelya’s Battlesong over any other Mythic item for the extra movement speed boost that it grants to its whole team. It can be used to either run away or chase after enemies.

Following the mythic item, Keria doesn’t buy extra resistances and instead goes for Knight’s vow. By binding it to his carry, he can protect his ally by redirecting part of the damage to himself. Given that Thresh’s passive provides bonus armor, the champion will become tankier over time without buying items.

Keria is a fan of low cooldowns on the spells and looks to get as much ability haste as possible. As a consequence, his main boots of choice are Ionian boots which also lower his summoners spells’ cooldown. While most pros never get past the third item, the remaining items to buy are Redemption, Zeke Convergence and Watchful Wardstone.

Runes

While Thresh players usually choose one between Aftershock and Glacial Augment, Keria always opts for the latter. The keystone rune does a much better job at locking down single targets and it can be used both offensively and defensively during fights and skirmishes. By choosing Inspiration as the primary tree, Keria goes for the following minor runes:

Hextech Flashtraption to get surprise hooks or jump over walls;
Minion Dematerializer for minion wave management;
Cosmic Insight for item and summoner spells cooldown.

The secondary rune tree is Resolve, with Bone Plating and Unfliching as the go-to choices. They guarantee better survivability for Thresh at all stages of the game. Remember that while Thresh is labeled as a tank champion, he’s not as tanky as other supports like Nautilus or Alistar.
