LJL has revealed two of its partners ahead of the start of its 2023 Spring Split. More partners will be announced on the opening day of the league, on Jan. 28.
LJL have selected the partners for the 2023 season
League of Legends Japan League (LJL) is the best Japanese competition when it comes to professional League of Legends. Organized by Riot Games and marketing company Playbrain, the LJL is one of the longest-standing leagues, currently at its 17th season, and the 9th season under partnership.
Yesterday, the league announced the first two partners of the new season: global office furniture manufacturer Steelcase and South Korean streaming service AfreecaTV. According to esportsadvocate, the financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Steelcase will serve as the official chair supplier of the league, as well as provide special offers to those who watch the LJL league. On the other hand, AfreecaTV, a global video streaming service operated by South Korean company AfreecaTV Co. Ltd, will serve as the official broadcast partner of the league.
That said, there will be more partners announced on the start day of the LJL 2023 Spring Split on Jan. 28.

Considered a minor region, the LJL has a total of eight teams that compete in a double round-robin. The top six of the league at the end of the regular split will compete in the LJL Spring Playoffs to determine the Japanese representative that will go to the Mid-Season Invitational. With the new MSI format, the team will have to fight through the play-in stage with eight other teams, including the second seeds from the other regions.
The LJL teams for the 2023 Spring Split are:
AXIZ

Crest Gaming ACt
DetonatioN FM
FENNEL
SoftBank HAWKS
Sengoku Gaming
V3 Esports
FENNEL is the newest entry of the LJL, acquiring the spot left by Rascal Jester. FENNEL is a multi-games esports organization, known for competing in other esports titles like Apex Legends, as well as in VALORANT Challengers Japan.
