Darkside makes flashy Dota 2 debut in DPC 2023 EEU

The Eastern European portion of the Dota 2 DPC 2023 season is all the craze after two strong consecutive seasons in 2021/22. New teams are now challenging the established powerhouses, as everything hangs in the balance.

Darkside is the latest addition to the ever growing regional scene seeking to leave their mark.

Come over to the Darkside

Honestly, EEU and CIS teams have been mediocre throughout the last season, as established powerhouses like Virtus.pro and Natus Vincere failed to qualify for TI11. BetBoom and Team Spirit failed to leave a mark as well, leaving the regional scene in a state of flux.

However, an abundance of new players and teams in the new season, makes the region of the most agile and innovative ones in the ecosystem. Plenty prominent players also moved around the teams, and we expect a variety of fantasy team combinations at DPC 2023.

Take Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev as example; Who, despite being an accomplished player with many victories in his book, is still a young prodigy and already in consideration for one of the top Dota 2 carry players of all time. His new team includes veterans: Vladimir “RodjER” Nikogosian and Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev, as well as two upstarts in Maxim “re1bl” Afanasyev and Vladislav “DkFogas” Frolov.

A new team seemingly formed out of nowhere is now the key contender in the region only one week in.

BetBoom released SoNNeikO and RodjER for TORONTOTOYO’s new all-star roster.

Darkside kick off DPC 2023 with a bang

Darkside’s bombastic roster showcase certainly lives up to its name after their first matches in DPC 2023 EEU Division 1.

They won two series against Natus Vincere and Nemiga Gaming, and are likely a single win away from almost securing one of the three invites to Lima Major 2023.

If there’s one key takeaway from Darkside’s playstyle, it’s definitely their drafting choice. They tend to lean towards picking heroes with decisive ultimate, such as Silencer and Naga Siren. But due to their long cooldowns, Darkside has to make the best out of the downtime by scaling its late-game capabilities.

Although many fans have high hopes for Darkside to win the DPC 2023, the EEU competition is challenging. BetBoom, Team Spirit, and HellRaisers are strong foes in DPC 2023 for the same appeals, which is their seasoned rosters.
