The Dota 2 community is buzzing with last-minute additions and registrations for the upcoming Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season. There is less than a day left for teams to finalize their rosters and sign up players on the Major Registration page. But after the deadline comes, when does the DPC season start?
The Winter Tour for 2022/2023 DPC starts on December 11th, 2022 which is the date when Open Qualifiers take place. If you’re looking for the date when Regional League tournaments begin instead, it is on January 9th, 2023.

The DPC schedule changes alongside the format
The Dota 2 community from professional players, to talents, and fans have endlessly complained regarding DPC’s painfully draggy schedule in 2022. One season lasted more than a month and each team was playing at the rate of 1 match per week. To solve this issue, Valve changed the format of the pro circuit and divided the two Divisions to play at separate timelines.
Here is the full 2022/2023 DPC Winter Tour (Tour 1) schedule:
Open Qualifier: December 11 – 13Closed Qualifier: December 14 – 15Division I Regional League Tour: January 9 – 29Division II Regional League Tour: January 30 – February 19Dota 2 Major: February 24 – March 3
We will first see qualifiers take place to determine the final two teams that will join Division II in respective regions. Once the qualifier phase is over, there will be almost one month break before the 2023 DPC season finally rolls into full action. For fans of Division II teams, you will need to wait much longer to see the teams compete.
