Virtus.pro unveils new roster, moves DM, gpk to VP inactive jail

With just a few days to go until the roster lock, Russian organization Virtus.pro has announced its roster for the 2022/2023 DPC season. The org unveiled its new lineup in a social media post earlier today, introducing a full new five-stack.

With the signing, the team adds carry Kamil “Koma`” Biktimirov, mid Ilya “squad1x” Kuvaldin, offlaner Evgeniy “Noticed” Ignatenko, roaming support Oleg “sayuw” Kalenbet, and hard support and captain Andrey “Dukalis” Kuropatkin.

Perhaps the most notable of these is Notice, BetBoom alum, and veteran of TI11. He joins some experienced lower division names in sayuw and Dukalis, who featured on One Move and Puckchamp respectively. The roster seems to bring some new blood into the upper division squad. Something, Virtus.pro has historically had good results with. The new roster will take part in the EEU Upper Division in 2022/2023, presumably under the VP banner, rather than the Outsiders name that the organization used in 2022.

Welcome to Virtus.pro inactive jail!

While the signing are great news for the new players, for Danil “gpk” Skutin and Dmitry “DM” Dorokhin, the move means being sent to the Virtus.pro Inactive Roster. This is something all members of the former VP.Prodigy lineup now find themselves in. Vitalie “Save-” Melnic has been on this inactive roster since November 2021, while Illias “illias” Ganeev joined in January. Only Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko has managed to escape the VP inactive prison, presumably thanks to EG paying the his contract ransom in 2022

We can only assume that the VP.Prodigy lineup signed some kind of long-term contract in their initial run with the team. Now these players find themselves in a kind of contract limbo. It’s uncertain what the future holds for these players.
