It is finally unveiled. American organization, Shopify Rebellion signs the former Evil Geniuses lineup comprising well-known Dota 2 veterans including former offlaner for TSM, SabeRLight. The last-minute announcement arrives just in time for the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) roster lock.

SabeRLight departs TSM to join Shopify Rebellion

To the surprise of many, TSM announced SabeRLight’s departure earlier today. This was unexpected due to the team’s great chemistry with SabeRLight. On top of that, nobody was expecting departures so close to the roster lock deadline.

Right after the announcement, Shopify Rebellion revealed that it had picked up SabeRLight to join the ex-EG roster. In a hilarious clip, that shares meme-ish resemblance to Nigma Galaxy’s video, SabeRLight announced his entrance as a Rebel.

Arteezy and Cr1t find a new home after six years

Arteezy and Cr1t have long represented the colors of Evil Geniuses and with this signing begins a new era. Since 2016, both players have bled blue and grown their roots with EG.

Fly and Abed have also been with EG for a long time. Fly entered the organization in 2018 and captained the team to countless achievements. In late 2021, he had a stint in Southeast Asia with Talon Esports, however, he returned to the NA powerhouse in the midst of 2022. Young Filipino, Abed also moved across the continents in 2019 to serve as EG’s midlaner.

These players have merged together to create a legacy. Any average Dota 2 fan would always associate the org and players together but the next DPC season would see something completely different. Shopify Rebellion will be competing in North America’s Division I DPC in the upcoming season.
