Pakistan Cricket blatantly copies VALORANT Chamber Reveal Video

Riot Games is known for creating breathtaking animations across its video games, including FPS title VALORANT. From season reveals to new characters, the developer never disappoints with its videos. Now, it seems that the dev has gotten a new fan in the official Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The PCB is the governing body for cricket in the South Asian country of Pakistan. As the Pakistan cricket team heads to battle England in a best-of-three test cricket series, the PCB released an animated video to build hype for the series. However, a lot of people pointed out how the video bared a stark resemblance to Riot Games’ Chamber reveal video.

Pakistan Cricket Board blatantly copies Valorants’ Chamber Reveal Video

The video was posted by @TheRealPCB, the official Twitter account for the cricket board. Twitter user @esports_s1mp made a side-by-side comparison of the videos with Chamber’s reveal video which was posted in October 2021 – and they are way too similar.

It seems that the editor at the PCB just sat down with the Chamber reveal video and replicated it with cricketers instead of the VALORANT agent. The entire color scheme, setting, and basic graphic animations are almost the same. The only difference – Chamber has been replaced with England’s test cricket captain Ben Stokes and Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam.

VALORANT community reacts to the similarity

The video by the PCB has so far been viewed more than 320,000 times and has 7,700 likes on Twitter. Much of the engagement has come from the global VALORANT community.

The official Instagram account for Bleed Esports chirped under the video with a funny comment: – “Chamber plays cricket?”

Fellow professional org Talon Esports also reacted to the similarities by tagging VALORANT Esports and saying that they’ve seen this intro somewhere.

Twitter party teasing the cricket team hasn’t stopped since..

Besides the few comments praising the video, there are also a fair share of great memes.

Chamber – a hot choice for players since its release

Nonetheless, Chamber has been a popular choice for players ever since he was released over a year ago. So much so, that Riot recently announced that it was making some key changes to the agent as his current setup was “shaping play space in an unhealthy way” and “breaking VALORANT’s core tactical cycle.”

As a result, Chamber has been significantly nerfed in Patch 5.12. Firstly, his Headhunter’s (Q) spread has been increased after the second bullet when spamming. Until now, the Agent was overpowered in the pistol rounds because of this ability. This change has been made to counter this.

Secondly, his Rendezvous’ (E) range has been significantly decreased. Instead of two anchors, he can now only place one and teleport back to it when within its range. There is a slight respite for players, though, as the radius of a single anchor has been increased from 7.5 to 13 meters. Despite this, the effectiveness of his ability will be significantly reduced by this nerf, preventing him from quickly rotating between sites and also from escaping enemy ambushes.

His Trademark (C) and Tour De Force (X) are also getting nerfed. The Trademark trap will now be range-restricted and will be disabled when Chamber moves out of range. Lastly, the Tour De Force is getting a significant nerf with its fire rate being decreased by 57.5 percent.

These nerfs will certainly affect Chamber’s dominance in the lobby, so much so, that he might actually move to cricket.
