What it takes to voice Junker Queen
As Junker Queen’s voice actor, de Niese said she goes into the recording sessions feeling rather nervous. This is because she doesn’t know where Junker Queen’s voice comes from within her.
“When I’m in the booth, she absolutely takes over,” de Niese said “She’s a force, and I’m often like, “Wow. did that come out of me?’”
On being the Overwatch 2 Junker Queen voice actor
The voice actor also shared how intimidating it could be to voice Junker Queen in general. De Niese noted how she’s new to the Overwatch 2 world and to gaming. Learning that Junker Queen already had existing lore also meant that fans and players alike had expectations, and de Niese said she didn’t want to let anyone down.
“But from the response that I’ve been receiving from you all, I think you kind of like the Queen, right? I like her, too,” de Niese continued.
She then thanked the fans who reached out to her and let her know about their love for Junker Queen’s voice acting. “This game is going to keep evolving, and she’s going to keep evolving, and it’s really, really cool to be welcomed into this amazing community,” de Niese said. “So thank you.”

Junker Queen voice lines and headcanon
As for de Niese’s favorite Junker Queen voice line in Overwatch 2, she revealed that it’s not out yet. However, she does like the one that goes, “It ain’t a party… until someone’s dead.”
Junker Queen’s voice actor also shared a headcanon with the Overwatch League Grand Finals 2022 audience. In terms of what the character likes, de Niese said said Junker Queen would be into a cold beer.
“I’ll just give her a good, cold beer and she’ll be alright!” de Niese revealed. The crowd cheered when she said the line in Junker Queen’s voice.
