Overwatch League playoffs format
The Overwatch League playoffs employs a double-elimination format. However, the top seeded teams do have a slight advantage over others. The top seeds can select their round 2 opponents, giving them an opportunity to choose the best opponent for them.
OWL 2022 Playoffs Participating teams
Twelve teams kicked off the Overwatch League playoffs. The teams qualified to the playoffs via various routes, but once they were in the playoffs, it was even footing for everyone.
The top six teams in the West and the top three teams from the east automatically qualified for the playoffs. Additionally, two teams from the West and one from the east earned their playoffs spot via the Countdown cup.
