Houston Outlaws cut trio of players post-Grand Finals

After placing third in the final Overwatch League tournament of the season the Houston Outlaws are already making roster moves.

Today we say goodbye to @OW_Creative, @Doge_OW, and @Lep_ow.

Houston released Tomas “Doge” Kongsøre, Joseph “Lep” Cambriani and Kim “Creative” Young-wan; all three pick-up acquisitions during a mid-season shuffle made as a reaction to a shifting meta. The release of Creative stands out among the roster moves, thanks in part to his support play as Kiriko. Creative played 96% of his time as the newest Overwatch 2 hero during the Outlaws’ deep and unexpected playoff run.

Boston Uprising begin new era with PRE as head coach

After a season of ups and downs that saw the team finish 10th in the West Division, the Boston Uprising announced an off-season change at the head coach position. Former Washington Justice general manager Aaron “PRE” Heckman will take over coaching duties for the Uprising, with previous coach Valentin “Ascot” Wulfman having left the team immediately after Grand Finals.

Join us in welcoming Aaron “@PRE_owl” Heckman as our new General Manager.

Aaron knows what it takes to win, and is ready to elevate our organization to new heights.

Head coach dpei leaves Vancouver Titans

Off-season restructuring kicked off early when the Vancouver Titans announced shortly after Overwatch League Grand Finals via Twitter that it had parted ways with head coach David “dpei” Pei. The release of Pei signals the end of a season of frustration for the Titans, in which the team failed to get a single win before the mid-season hiring of the coach in July. Of course, those familiar with the tumultuous history of the Titans know that this isn’t the first time the team has made a major restructuring move.

Today we announce that we will be parting ways with @dpei_ow.

David joined us at a very difficult time in the season and lifted us up with his insight and expertise. We appreciate the hard work he put in as our head coach this season. Thank you & all the best moving forward. pic.twitter.com/V5z8EsCkJG
