ORDER Esports is completely down and out of the Oceania esports scene, after bankruptcy and re-structuring didn’t pan out. How did one of Australia’s biggest esports organizations financial collapse despite their success across multiple scenes?
Back in August, The Austrlian did a piece with Shane Cremin regarding the organization’s state and following steps. Despite falling into voluntary administration, Order’s chief gaming officer Chris Orfanellis stated the organization was not “completely dead yet”.
While true at the time as the organization could still be bought out or gain a miracle last-minute investment, all hope for the Order Army seems to be lost now.

Earlier in August 2022, ORDER entered voluntary administration due to the organization’s poor financial state. This came despite raising over $5,000,000 in private investment just the year prior in 2021. Following the large funding, Order had promising results across the board in various games. In the League of Legends scene, they took first place in the 2022 LCO Split 1, a MSI appearance and a respectable top 3 finish in Split 2. The organization also saw success in their Valorant division, representing Oceania in the 2022 VCT APAC Stage 2 Challengers and later taking first place in the Valorant Oceania Tour Championship later in the year. Additionally, their CS:GO team had a string of successful wins in various ESL and ESEA Oceania events.
Fellow owner of one of Australia’s biggest esports organizations, Jason Spiller of Dire Wolves, stated Order’s collapse was due to their risky rapid growth. This included ventures in various esports scenes like Fortnite and FIFA without a clear focus.
Web sites and other socials are out service nowadays. Their official Twitter account has being “hijacked” by a former employee, who is having a ton of fun these days. The tweet reveals that following Order entering voluntary administration, former employees have yet to be paid, suggesting the organization has yet to receive any financial injection.
GroundZero acquire ORDER’s LCO spot
Ground Zero Gaming, a rival Australian organization, revealed they have recently acquired Order’s LCO slot earlier in November. This announcement confirms the downfall of one of Australia’s top League of Legends teams, and likely wider organization given the huge loss. Ground Zero Gaming had tried to venture into the League of Legends scene in 2018, hiring a full roster also comprising of a substitute and coach. Unfortunately, after only a single season, the organization suspended its League of Legends operations following a disappointing 11th place finish in the 2018 OCS Regular Season, Oceania’s challenger league.
Now, 2023 will be the first time Ground Zero Gaming enters the high level League of Legends scene. Despite Ground Zero Gaming acquiring Order’s LCS spot, they have yet to announce any rosters. It is highly likely they will build their team from scratch, given none of the existing League of Legends Order players was announced as acquired in the deal. The organization’s announcement post also included a call out to interested players and support staff to “join the Ground Zero family”.
