Gabriel “Bwipo” Rau spent his 2022 season with Team Liquid but he will not be a part of the LCS roster in the upcoming season. As a result, Bwipo decided to take a break from professional play and focus on content creation in 2023. He also mentioned that he wants to stay in North America as he had moved all his life there at the beginning of the 2022 season.

Team Liquid formed one of the strongest rosters on paper before the LCS 2022 season. However, things did not go as planned for the famous esports organizations.
First, Liquid placed third at LCS 2022 Spring Playoffs and then fourth at LCS 2022 Championship. Bwipo, Santorin, Bjergsen, Hans sama, and CoreJJ missed both MSI 2022 and Worlds 2022, failing to represent North America at international events. It was known that TL wanted to make roster changes and they parted ways with Santorin, Bjergsen, and Hans sama earlier.

Now, it is official that Bwipo will also not be a part of the organization’s LCS roster in the upcoming season, some of the biggest LoL news in this off-season. Instead of competing on the professional scene, Bwipo will take a break and focus on content creation, again under the Team Liquid brand.
Bwipo’s Shift to Content Creation
Considering all the best LoL players in Europe, Bwipo had times when he was one of the most reliable top lane players back in the day. Even with Liquid he had impressive showings but never really matched his previous performances. During one of his streams recently, the Belgian top laner talked about his situation.
“I reached out to all ten LCS teams, but they did not want me. Even though I had a great offer from Team Vitality, it came too early in the off-season for me to be comfortable making a decision. Because I moved my whole life here, I expected to stay on Team Liquid, which was supposedly going to be the case going to this off-season too but when push came to shove they decided to go into a different direction, which is okay. It is just I wasn’t ready yet. Without having the possibility to explore LCS offers, to take an EU offer, which really sucks.” said Bwipo, during his stream.
Bwipo continued his words by saying that he is hundred percent taking a split off in the 2023 season but he might come back in the Summer Split if he finds a good offer in the region. Even though it looks like a very little possibility, he might even consider making his return to Europe. During this time, he will continue to work on getting better and play Champions Queue matches.
Moreover, he will focus on content creation and develop his own brand under the Team Liquid roof. His ex-teammate from Fnatic, Broxah also had a similar path. The Danish jungler focused on content creation after leaving the Team Liquid LCS team.
Team Liquid is one of the most popular LoL esports teams in the world. Moreover, the organization keeps its content side fresh so that the brand reaches a wider audience. Bwipo will surely make a great fit for TL’s content team but we might see him compete again at the highest level even during the 2023 season. On the other hand, Team Liquid’s LCS 2023 roster is still unknown except for the fact that CoreJJ might stay within the team for the upcoming season.
