After a year of anticipation, Modern Warfare 2 is finally here. Xbox players are hoping the game will be on Game Pass, especially after Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard. But is that the case?
Is Modern Warfare 2 on Game Pass?
Unfortunately, MW2 will not be on the Game Pass at launch.
This doesn’t mean that Modern Warfare 2 won’t be on Game Pass in the future, however. This is easily a possibility, especially thanks to the acquisition.
“We intend to make Activision Blizzard’s much-loved library of games — including Overwatch, Diablo, and Call of Duty – available in Game Pass,” Microsoft Gaming’s Phil Spencer said in a blog back in September.
What is the exclusive content on PlayStation?
Don’t expect Modern Warfare 2 to be on the Game Pass anytime soon, however.
Sony has an ongoing marketing deal with Activision Blizzard that allows the PlayStation to have exclusive offers for Call of Duty players, including access to the game before Xbox players. There will be more PlayStation-exclusive content for the next few years. With this deal in place, it’s highly unlikely that Microsoft will be able to add the game to the Game Pass.
The exclusive content for PlayStation players currently includes:

This marketing deal will end June 2023 as of right now. This is most likely when Microsoft will be able to add Modern Warfare 2 to the Game Pass if that’s in the company’s plans.
