Big House 10, one of the best events on the competitive calendar for Smash is fast approaching.
This is the latest installment of the series, expecting a huge crowd drawn this year. We’re going to be seeing events in Melee, Ultimate, and even the original Smash Bros from the Nintendo 64. The event has more than $23,000 in total prize pool across all of these events. Along with Panda Cup Finale slots at stake. This is what to expect at the Big House 10 and which players to keep an eye out for.
The Big House 10
The Big House is a yearly tournament series taking place at Michigan. It’s been held since 2011. It has fast become one of the biggest events alongside Smash Con and GENESIS. While some recent tournaments got cancelled after trying to use an online version of the game, the event is back for the Big House 10.
This year, the event is going to be held over the second weekend in October. It kicks off on October 7 and runs through to 9. The tournament has a whole host of events. There are singles and doubles for Melee, Ultimate, and 64. However, Melee and Ultimate are the main events with bigger prize pools and qualification at the Panda Global Finale at stake.
The Big House 10 Ultimate
The Ultimate side of the game has a prize pool of $6,360 in all. Along with that, the three highest players here will qualify for the Panda Cup Finale. The roster has some of the best players in Smash.
Light will be attending in Ultimate. He’s looking strong off good finishes earlier this year at Glitch Regen, 2nd at Smash Ultimate Summit 5 and Shine, and 3rd at Super Smash Con. Winning a major just weeks before this one kicks off makes him a clear player to watch at the Big House 10.
Also at Big House for Ultimate is Kameme. He’s primarily a Sora player who has become one of the most interesting fighters to watch at recent events. Kameme has risen up the rankings. He’s beginning to place pretty highly at events like 2nd at Glitch Regen recently. He looks primed to take a major win soon.

The Melee side of the Big House 10 is no less exciting than Ultimate. This event is also part of the Panda Global Qualifiers, with the highest ranking 3 players who haven’t yet qualified to move through to the final. This event for Melee also carries an invite for Smash Summit 14.
The tournament for Melee is going to have 9643 players entering. It’s going to be a big pools stage. Out of those players though, there are some with great chances of coming out on top at this event.
Zain is attending the Big House 10, fresh off a win at Shine along with great placements throughout the year. There’s also iBDW, Hungrybox, and others at the event who have all had amazing results in recent majors. These are some of the top players to keep an eye out for at The Big House 10 for Melee:

This looks set to be one of the biggest Smash Bros events in 2022. We’re fast approaching the finals for some of the circuits.
