Splatoon 3's Next Splatfest Is a Pokémon Collab

Splatoon 3’s next Splatfest will be themed after Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, asking players to choose which type of Starter Pokémon they go for.

Taking place the weekend ahead of Scarlet and Violet’s November 18 release date, running from November 11 to 13, the Splatfest will grant players Pokémon themed shirts depending on which type they choose, Grass, Fire, or Water.

The green grass shirt features a silhouette of new starter Pokémon Sprigatito on the back, the orange fire shirt features Fuecoco, and the blue water shirt has Quaxly.

Nintendo has also promised that the Splatsville hub area will be decorated in celebration of the event, encouraging anyone playing Splatoon 3 that weekend to participate.

Having only launched in September, Splatoon 3 hasn’t had many Splatfests so far, but its first one asked players to join teams based on what they’d bring to a deserted island: gear, grub, or fun. There will likely be many more, however, as Splatoon 2’s Splatfests ran for years after the game was released, with Nintendo rewarding players who stuck around with bonuses in Splatoon 3.

In our 8/10 review of the game, IGN said: “Splatoon 3’s campaign features a fresh take on an open hub world design, mixing in short but satisfying missions to let you experiment with different weapons and abilities.”
