After being an inactive part of the main roster of Sentinels last split, SicK will return in the 2023 Valorant season.
Sentinels today (October 19th) announced the return of SicK to fans via Twitter, bringing back one of the best NA talent Valorant players to an active roster. This is welcome news to fans who have missed seeing SicK competing on the NA and international stage.
Who is SicK?
Hunter Mims better known as ‘SicK’ is a former CS-GO player, who was an inactive part of the Sentinels roster during the end of 2022 split. Originally having joined Sentinels in April 2020, SicK temporarily stepped down from play in May 2022.
The 23 year old American player had become an inactive part of the roster due to mental health issues, and stood down from his role temporarily to improve his health. He was then moved to an inactive part of the roster, and his role filled, as he chose not to play in the NA split and subsequent NA Last Chance Qualifiers for Istanbul. An event which Sentinels did not qualify for.
During his off time, SicK streamed on his Twitch channel and maintained his usual standard of play. Saying he would return ‘soon’ to playing with Sentinels, and now we know for sure that means 2023.

What does this mean for NA?
NA will now see one of the strongest Phoenix / Sage players return to the main stage as part of an already stacked Sentinels Valorant team. The Sentinels roster, which was released earlier this week, is now truly stacked and something to be feared by the new NA region.
Earlier in the week, Sentinels confirmed the signing to their roster of former LOUD (Brazilian team) members Pancada and Sacy who won the Istanbul trophy. This will be alongside Tenz, who is not only as one of the best in Valorant, but also a long time teammate of SicK. Zekken will also be a part of the Sentinels Valorant team for the 2023 roster.

The re-activation of SicK as a player on Sentinels definitely puts Sentinels in a good position ahead of the 2023 season. Having not qualified for the Valorant Champions Tour in Istanbul this summer, there is a pressure on Sentinels to perform. But with their stacked roster, SicK back in his rightful role, this is a Sentinels that we can expect to see at international tournaments taking names and winning titles.
