Royal Ravens Announces CDL Roster, All Squads Now Confirmed

There’s little more than a month until the 2023 CDL season kicks off. It’s a record-short time between seasons, and this year, the action commences on the 2nd of December. For a while, rostermania has been in full swing, but the board is finally set thanks to the Royal Ravens announcing its 2023 roster just hours ago. It was the last organisation to lock in its CDL squad for the 2023 season, but now, every team is known, confirmed, and raring to go.

At this point in time, the world is currently revelling in the hype of the Modern Warfare 2 rollout. This will be the platform of choice for the next two years of the Call of Duty League, as, for the first time in well over a decade, there will be no new Call of Duty title released in 2023.

Which Teams Are Looking Good Ahead of the Season?

There’s a remarkable amount of talent entering the fray in December. These teams consist of the best Call of Duty players of all time, and they’re all equally capable of producing some impressive results. Following a dramatic 2022 season, the LA Thieves ended as strong as they possibly could have, securing a Major tournament and picking up the CDL Champs trophy in back-to-back events.

There are high expectations that the LA Thieves will once again come on strong. However, we can easily predict a battle of the best franchises in the earlier stages, with the likes of Atlanta FaZe and OpTic Texas locking horns, just as they did on multiple occasions in the last season. We’ve seen almost every organisation make dramatic changes to its CDL roster in the last few weeks, making it increasingly difficult to accurately predict the strongest team ahead of the season.

Furthermore, both the competitors and the viewers will have just one month to familiarise themselves with Modern Warfare 2 before the season begins. It’s a record-low break between seasons, and it means that, when the Call of Duty League does go live, everyone will likely still be learning the full depth of the platform.
