Return of device to Astralis is a closed deal, according to journalist

Away from the servers in 2022, Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz will return to Astralis after a shy period in Ninjas in Pyjamas. The information that was brought by Jaxon, states that the deal is already closed and will soon be announced by Astralis.

If confirmed, the 4-time Major winner will return to the Danish team one year and six months after being sold for reported values of $1 million. Device has not played an official match of CS:GO since December of 2021.

Spoiler of Astralis’s CEO?

Besides the report of the deal being closed, the fans of Astralis that hope for the return of device can be a little more confident that the AWPer is coming home. Last Tuesday (October 25), the CEO of Astralis, Anders Hørsholt shared a mysterious tweet.

A great week coming up…

Shy passage in NIP

With star player status, device arrived on Ninjas in Pyjamas in April of 2021 to help bring Sweden back to the spotlight in CS:GO. As a Ninja, the AWPer was able to give NIP a boost and helped them qualify for the Stockholm Major.

However in the Major, device and the Swedes were eliminated in the quarterfinals. After that, NIP didn’t have any good results and the Danish star informed that he was going to take a time off to take care of his mental health and said in social media that 2021 was not a good year for him in personal matters.

1/5: Hey guys, 2021 has been a tough year for so many people, myself included. Today there is new speculation as to the reason why I’m currently taking time out: I shouldn’t have to, but as it’s proving unfair on my team mates, I thought it best to offer an explanation…

Device to the rescue

If device didn’t find himself outside of Astralis, the same was real for the organization. After losing its star player, the Danish team was not able to get back to the same level that resulted in four Major wins.

Not only that, but losing device started a spiral of searching for a new AWPer for the team. In that sense, Philip Lucky Ewald, Lucas Bubzkji Andersen and even Lukas gla1ve Rossander tried to fill the shoes of the former companion. Now, Asger farlig Jensen occupies the job, but not with the confidence of the fanbase of Astralis.

Now, if device returns, maybe the two sides of that story can find a happy ending. But, if you want to know if the AWPer can save Astralis, read our recent opinion on that matter.
