MPL ID Season 10 Playoffs: The storyline so far

Just like in past seasons in the MPL ID – the long-term rivalry between Onic Esports and RRQ Hoshi is still alive. The teams finished in first and second place respectively in the regular season.

Onic fared a bit better with an 11-3 score while RRQ Hoshi finished with a score of 9-5. In the double round-robin playoffs, both teams have already faced off against each twice. Their first encounter on Aug. 20 saw RRQ come out on top 1-2.

Onic were able to get their revenge, though, in the most recent encounter between the two teams on Sept. 10 when they beat RRQ 2-0.

Alter Ego, Bigetron Alpha, Rebellion Zion, and Aura Fire are the other teams to have made it out of the regular season. EVOS Legends, one of the most popular Indonesian MPL teams, and Geek Fam ID have been eliminated.

What does the playoffs bracket look like?

For placing in the top two – both RRQ and Onic have received a bye to the second round of the playoffs. RRQ is set to face the winner of Alter Ego vs. Aura Fire in the upper bracket semi-finals while Onic will face the winner of the Bigetron Alpha vs. Rebellion Zion.

If both teams manage to win their respective bouts fans could get to see the two heavyweights as early as Oct. 21 in the upper bracket semi-final. Onic is the team we conisder the main outright favorite going into the bracket.
