Battlegrounds Lobby Legends Qualifiers #7 recap: SeseiSei has fallen!

Battlegrounds Lobby Legends’ high season continues. Yesterday we had the Qualifiers for the seventh $50,000 event in 2022. Only 12 of the 48 players made it thru this stage to compete in the Lobby Legends 7 main event on October 15-16. The current winner and Lobby Legends point-record holder, SeseiSei, was knocked down, guaranteeing a new champion. Let’s go over what happened!

Battlegrounds Lobby Legends Qualifiers #7

Hearthstone Battelgrounds Esports is giving no break to players or fans. Just seven days ago, SeseiSei proclaimed himself the sixth edition’s champ, scoring record-high points. Yesterday, we saw the Qualifiers for the next $50K tournament.

The top 16 ladder players from the Americas, European and Asia Pacific servers competed to earn an invite to the main event on October 15-16. With little to no changes in the meta, SeseiSei was pointed as one of the favorites. However, things didn’t go that well for him this time.

The Qualifiers started with a first stage in which the 48 players were divided into 6 groups. Each would play three games, with the top 4 point earners advancing to the next stage. Similarly, the 24 remaining players in stage 2 had to battle throughout three more games for the Top 4 spots that would put them in the Battlegrounds Lobby Legends #7 main event.

Qualifier Results for Battlegrounds: Lobby Legends #6

Battlegrounds is a game that rewards consistency. However, in a sample size of only three games, anything can happen. That is why, while we see the same names on the top of the ladder each month, the Lobby Legends finals are unique.

During the first stage, big names couldn’t make it. Among them, Alutemu, Rogojine, rimgosu, Jeef, Zorgo, BetetBabbit and Lii. But these were not the only ones. Just 12 players advance to the main event. In the second stage, SeseiSei, the current champion, fell in battle, probably victim of his high-risk high-reward strategies.

You can find the full results for the three groups on Battlegrounds Lobby Legends Qualifiers stage two below:

If you want to check out the action, HapaBear carried out a watch party for these qualifiers. Check the VoD here, and if you happen to be an Alucard fan and want the Portuguese version, you can visit Cerealforme’s VoD.

On October 15, four Chinese server players will join these 12. While APAC’s dominance seems to continue, the incredible results from Alucard and the presence of fan-favorite XQN are here to put a fight.

What’s Next?

The Battlegrounds Lobby Legends #7 main event will take place on October 15th and 16th with $50,000 in prizes. However, Battlegrounds Esports news doesn’t end there. With September’s season ending just two days ago, we know the names of the 48 players that will compete in the Lobby Legends #8 Qualifiers.

Bare in mind that players still have to accept the invitations (and yes, some had forfeited from competing in the past), so these leaderboards are only an indicator. Moreover, Advo is still banned (since the Advo-Silvername scandal), so he won’t be eligible for the next event.

It’s sad to see RDU being so close and not making it. He had an incredible month, including a Subathon and a +400 climb in the final 48 hours. As a fan, I still pray for someone not accepting the invite and RDU getting into the event.

Finished #10 but 1 hour too late, was #18 at midnight so probably no Lobby Legends for me unless someone drops out

Either way, fantastic month and I want to thank everyone for this, next month we do even better, let’s goo! pic.twitter.com/Iq8GAE45gB
