$230K Fortnite PlayStation Cup: format, prize pool, how to compete

Epic Games and PlayStation have collaborated for several months to keep the competitive Fortnite community alive on consoles. Dubbed PlayStation Cups, these tournaments are exclusive only to those on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 with more than $100K on the line. However, the October 2022 Fortnite PlayStation Cup ups the ante to a $230K prize pool.

Today, we’ll cover everything you need to know about this month’s PlayStation Cup, including the format, prize breakdown, scoring system, qualification process, and more.

Get your controllers and PlayStation consoles ready for the October PlayStation Cups, taking place respectively on the 20, 25, and 27. From a format standpoint, this competition is a straightforward solo Battle Royale tournament. The first two qualifiers will occur on October 20 and 25, where the top 50 players from each session earn a spot in the PlayStation Cup Finals.

Then, on October 27, the 100 finalists in each region will compete for a portion of the $230K prize pool. Remember, the prize pool only comes into play during the Fortnite PlayStation Cup Finals. To compete, simply open Fortnite on your system and queue into the tournament during your region’s designated timeframe.

PlayStation Cup cosmetic reward

Epic Games and PlayStation have allocated the $230K prize pool across all seven competitive server regions. Furthermore, Europe tops the list with $2K going to the winner, and NA East is next with $1.6K to first. Lastly, participants who earn at least eight points in the PlayStation Cup will collect the “Guffed” in-game cosmetic spray.
