Iron Man Game Announced by EA Motive

EA Motive, the studio behind the upcoming Dead Space remake, has announced that it is developing an Iron Man game.

In a new tweet from Motive’s Twitter account, the Montreal-based EA studio revealed that it is collaborationg with Marvel Games on “an all-new single-player, action-adventure Iron Man game.” The project is said to still be in early development.

The news is out! 🎉We couldn’t be more thrilled to collaborate with @MarvelGames on an all-new single-player, action-adventure Iron Man game. While we’re still in early development, this is an exciting new adventure for our studio: https://t.co/zpuT61TKtV pic.twitter.com/309lhm02dY

The tweet points out that the Iron Man project will be a single-player action-adventure game, which is where Marvel has had the most success in AAA games. Spider-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy are firm favourites among comic and MCU fans, something that can’t be said for the multiplayer-focused Avengers.

Motive is currently working on the Dead Space remake, but in the past has worked with the Star Wars license on Star Wars: Squadrons, and was a support studio for DICE’s Star Wars: Battlefront 2. The developer is no stranger to working with IPs created by other companies, then.

This won’t be the first Iron Man game ever made, but it stands a chance of being the first good one; back in 2008 there was a movie tie-in game for the original MCU film, which we said was awful.
