Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4: Paradise dropped yesterday with seemingly infinite new features to experience. One in particular – Vaults – returned to Fortnite this season with a renewed approach. The Vault concept made its debut in Chapter 2 Season 2. However, Vaults in Fortnite are much different this season, primarily due to the addition of Vault keys.
There’s much to break down about how Vaults work in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4. Here’s everything you need to know about where to find Vaults and how to access them.
Where to find keys for the Vault in Fortnite Season 4
Vault Key in Fortnite Season 4
Any players looking to access a nearby Vault should first search for the new Chrome Chests that were introduced this season. These Chrome Chests drop EvoChrome weapons, ammo, and healing items. Additionally, every Chrome Chest in Fortnite Season 4 carries the possibility of dropping Vault keys. The keys are an absolute must, as you cannot open Vaults without them.
Your best bet to find Vault keys in Fortnite is to navigate to a Chrome-influenced point of interest (POI) such as Lustrous Lagoon. Then, look for the Chrome Chests; plenty of them are across the landscape. Eventually, you’ll open a chest and see a Vault Key. Thankfully, you can walk over the item to pick it up, and it does not occupy an inventory slot.

Also, Fortnite Season 4 features two types of Vaults; Low-Security and High-Security. The former requires only one Vault Key, and you must have two keys to enter a High-Security Vault. Now that we’ve covered how you can find Vault keys in Fortnite let’s look at these massive loot-filled structures.

Vaults exist across the entire landscape in Fortnite Season 4, so finding one in close proximity should not be too challenging. Thanks to Fortnite.GG, we have access to a complete map of the Low-Security and High-Security Vault locations. You can refer above for that map and use it as your guide.
We located a Vault under the pirate ship in Lustrous Lagoon for this guide. After finding two Fortnite Vault keys, we navigated to the High-Security Vault and successfully opened it. Then, the Vault door opened, revealing two Supply Drops, two Normal Chests, two Epic Chests, Slurp Barrels, Ammo Boxes, and Toolboxes. All in all, these Fortnite Season 4 Vaults are excellent for anyone looking to upgrade their loadout.
