We could still be a ways off from finding out when Hollow Knight: Silksong will finally be in our hands, but the upcoming sequel nevertheless continues to expand its platform presence. In addition to releasing on Nintendo Switch, Xbox consoles, and PC, it will now also be coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
The news comes from the official PlayStation Twitter account, which kept things pretty simple by telling us all to “sharpen our needles” in preparation for the game.

Of course, not much fanfare is needed when you’re announcing something about Team Cherry’s highly anticipated followup to the award-winning Hollow Knight. Hype for Silksong has been unreal since it was initially announced during E3 2019, though fresh info about the game has trickled in quite slowly since.
The metroidvania sequel casts players as Hornet, who wields a sharp needle as a weapon and must explore the mysterious world of Pharloom to find out why she was brought there. Though the game looks to be maintaining the same general design of the original, it’s expected to place more emphasis on speed and verticality thanks to Hornet’s expanded moveset.
Hollow Knight: Silksong will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC, likely at some point in early 2023, though Team Cherry has not confirmed any release date at this time. It will be available day one at no additional cost for Game Pass subscribers on Xbox and PC.
