Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 is finally here, and the chrome has taken over—this is the storyline Epic Games began teasing earlier this week. As a result, it gave fans something to expect when Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4, dubbed “Paradise,” finally launched. While most expected chrome to be the central theme, not much more beyond that and some Battle Pass skins were evident.
Finally, after a lengthy stay in Chapter 3 Season 3, Fortnite fans are ready to experience the new season. Today, we have everything you need to know about Fortnite Paradise, including new weapons, mechanics, locations, and much more.
Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 map
Fortnite Season 4 map
What better way to kick off a new season of Fortnite than covering the map? While not drastically different, Chapter 3 Season 4 possesses some reinvented points of interest (POIs) and a healthy dose of chrome.
Cloudy Condos
The most notable change in Fortnite Paradise is that Condo Canyon has changed to Cloudy Condos. Unlike its predecessor, Cloudy Condos uses balloons to float high in the sky. Furthermore, those looking to explore this POI can use a new gadget called the “D-Launcher” to get there and traverse the landscape.
Herald’s Sanctum
The Sanctuary has been abandoned in Chapter 3 Season 4 to make way for a new location named Herald’s Sanctum is nearby. This location takes the chrome concept to another level, literally and figuratively.
Other new and renamed locations include Lustrous Lagoon and Fort Jonesy, replacing The Daily Bugle and The Joneses. Also, Shimmering Shrine is another POI new to Fortnite Season 4.
New mechanics in Fortnite Paradise: Chrome Splash & Slide Kick
Chrome Splash
Epic Games takes the chrome concept to the next stage with the Chrome Splash. This mechanic is new to Fortnite Paradise. To utilize it, you can throw a Chrome Splash item at any material — wood, brick, or metal — and make it penetrable. Then, you can phase through your opponent’s structure and deliver a surprise.
Chrome character
Additionally, you can use the Chrome Splash on yourself. The result of splashing yourself is fire immunity. Also, when sprinting while Chrome-ified, your character turns into a “Blob,” allowing you to move faster, be immune to fall damage, and utilize the air dash feature.
Lastly, the new “Slide Kick” mechanic allows players to push an opposing player backward when sliding into them.
New and returning weapons in Fortnite Paradise
EvoChrome Shotgun
Fortnite Paradise features a selection of old and new weapons. First, let’s cover the latest offerings in Chapter 3 Season 4. The chrome takeover is responsible for an entirely new brand of weapons, named EvoChrome. Players that drop into Fortnite Paradise will eventually stumble across the EvoChrome Shotgun and Burst Rifle.
EvoChrome Burst Rifle
You can locate EvoChrome weapons in specific Chrome Chests. Also, the Shotgun and Burst Rifle increase in rarity the more damage you deal with them. It’s a unique concept in Fortnite Season 4 that rewards precise aim and could result in a Mythic rarity.
Port-A-Bunker
The Port-A-Bunker is a new gadget in Fortnite Season 4 that non-builders will find helpful. Like the Port-A-Fort, the Port-A-Bunker automatically deploys a 1×1 structure equipped with metal walls, a ramp, doors, and defensive tires.

Vault concept reinvented in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4
New Vault Bunker Keys
Vaults are back in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4, and they’re a bit different this time. Previously, you would need a key card, teammate, or an NPC to open Vaults. Now, you will merely stumble across keys to access these loot-filled structures. Moreover, there are two types of Vaults; Low-Security and High-Security.
The former requires one key to open while the other needs two. Upon collecting enough keys, you’ll see the Vault appear on your map to guide you.
Epic Games cracks down on Cronus users
FNCS logo
It’s no secret that players have long been abusing Cronus products, such as the Zen. This physical hardware allows controller players to increase their aim assist by using scripts. It seems enough is enough at Epic, as they’ve finally mentioned the product by name. Furthermore, the team plans to crack down on anyone that uses a Cronus Zen or Max to gain an unfair advantage in Fortnite Season 4.
“Starting this Season, players who use restricted devices that provide, or are intended to provide, a competitive advantage may receive an in-game warning. To continue playing, players must remove the hardware and restart Fortnite. Attempts to bypass this restriction will result in a permanent ban from Fortnite. Restricted devices include but are not limited to Cronus Zen and Cronus Max.”
Epic will ban repeat offenders who use “restricted devices”
While not necessarily related to the season, this change is significant for competitive Fortnite.
That covers everything you need to know about Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4: Paradise. Check out the season to see what’s new for yourself! There’s no telling where the story goes from here, but there are plenty new aspects of Fortnite to learn.
