Dota Dragon’s Blood Book 3 gets its first trailer

With just four weeks to go until Dota: Dragon’s Blood Book 3 released, Netflix today released a brand new trailer for the show. The trailer is the first full preview released for the upcoming series, and was unveiled on July 14th on the Netflix Geeked Twitter account.

The time has come for brave warriors to conquer an indomitable foe.

In the action-filled trailer we see battles, drama, and hints at the incredible conflict set for the third season of Dota 2’s animated adaptation. The trailer doesn’t tell us a whole lot but we do get an idea that the story for Dragon’s Blood is about to step towards its dramatic conclusion.

What’s more the main event of the trailer seems to be the long awaited showdown between Terrorblade and Invoker, who for the past two seasons have been playing 4D chess with each other. Now, with Mirana’s true power awakened, and the power of the Dragon Souls in Davion, perhaps Invoke has all the pieces he needs to defeat Terrorblade, and end the cycle.

The trailer ends with an ominous quote from Mirana: “It’s a new world out there.”

Dota: Dragon’s Blood is scheduled for release on Netflix on August 11th. The season will be released in completion, much like the previous two. It’s unknown if there will be a fourth season following this one.

Dota: Dragon’s Blood has been a fantastic dive into the world of Dota 2. At its peaks it’s a 10/10 story, usually when Terrorblade or Invoker are involved. But at its worst, it’s been a cringy mess of awkward dialogue and mislabeled subtitles.

The show has given us Marci, one of the most popular Dota heroes in recent memory. But it’s also given us the bland and forgettable dive into Davion, Dragon Knight, who could really do with a personality injection from somewhere. Hopefully Book 3 will focus on those peaks rather than slump to its troughs, and we’ll get a strong continuation of this animated series.
