FaZe Clan’s Halo side is set to pick up wantaway Cloud9 star Jonathan ‘Renegade’ Willette, whose move to HCS Kansas winners Sentinels fell through over buyout disagreements.
Per our last report, Sentinels were planning to shake up the Halo world, with the dynasty squad that has won so much together splitting to make way for Renegade. Tony ‘Lethul’ Campbell was the player intended to be making way for Cloud9’s young star.
According to Dexerto sources, that transfer fell through as Sentinels failed to meet Cloud9’s valuation of Renegade, which was in excess of $400,000.
With Renegade still seeking a move, though, FaZe Clan are stepping up to the plate, looking to bring him into the fold — with Adam ‘Bound’ Gray due to head in the other direction.
FaZe Clan have been in their own roster turmoil of late. Eric ‘Snip3down’ Wrona hinted at a desire to go back to Apex Legends, disappointed with the direction of Halo Infinite since its launch. He has since confirmed his commitment to Halo.

Meanwhile, Jesse ‘bubudubu’ Moeller was made a free agent on June 17, leaving the roster one man short.
What next for Sentinels?
Sentinels were targeting Renegade shortly after their victory at HCS Kansas City, in which they beat Cloud9 4-0 in the grand final.
Since they couldn’t come to terms with Cloud9 over Renegade’s buyout, Sentinels have made the decision to stick by Lethul and continue with the same roster that has won so much together.
There’s still some time left before the next major tournament of the season takes place, with HCS Orlando scheduled for September 2022, before October’s world championship event in Seattle, Washington.
