A new Southeast Asian champion has been crowned as RSG Philippines triumphed over RRQ Hoshi in the finals to become the winners of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) SEA Cup (MSC) 2022.
The Filipino first seeds beat the Indonesian team 4-0 in a one-sided final to take home the trophy. RSG entered the MPL Philippines last year and just in their second season became the champions to represent the region in the MSC. The international trophy will be an added feather to its cap.
RSG PH gets revenge in the Finals
This wasn’t the first time RSG faced RRQ in the MSC 2022. The two teams first met in the upper bracket finals, where RRQ beat them 3-1.
After a close series against Omega in the lower bracket finals, RSG made it to the MSC 2022 Finals with a chance to get revenge – and that’s exactly what they did.
RRQ were a distant team in the grand finals from the one that beat RSG just a day earlier. RSG closed the best-of-seven series with four back-to-back victories. While the overall result may seem one-sided, the matches were really close with RRQ being on the cusp of victory in the first three games but weren’t able to close them. The first three matches went on for nearly 30 minutes.
