Currently I have been sinking most of my gaming time in to Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 14. This is a game I have played off and on since the 2.0 release many years ago. However over the last 6 months I have been pretty involved in many new aspects of the game that I have never touched before. This would be simple things like crafting and gathering, achievement hunting, and of course, raiding. Not too many weeks ago I completed my first Extreme Trial and holy cow it was a blast!
It was an amazing time as I was playing with a group of random folks by using the Party Finder for the very first time. I was definitely nervous, but we had an amazingly patient leader, and were able to come from never touching this content, to a clear in the span of just a couple of hours. If I remember correctly we had 23 total wipes, but on almost every one of them, we learned something. Its been touted over and over again that the Final Fantasy community is one of, if not the best out there, and though I’ve seen it first hand many times, it never ceases to amaze me! 23 Wipes and not a single person showed any signs of frustration or anger at anyone else. As a matter of fact, watching someone make a mistake and have them apologize profusely, only to have multiple people tell them how good they were doing and what progress they were making was very wholesome.
